02 Feb Love Tastes Good!
Turns out, Rounds Bakery isn’t waiting for Valentine’s Day to share the love with our house!
Owners of the bagel, sandwich, doughnut and catering shop (Anton Novak and Sean Cary) surprised RMHC Northern Nevada in the morning as part of their “love tastes good” campaign. Not only were we gifted with tasty looking doughnuts and treats for the full house of guests, we were also presented with a $100 check. The donation will help us continue serving our community by providing a comfortable home away from home for moms and dads and grandpas and grandmas who have little ones in the hospital.
The doughnuts and treats have only been out for a few hours and the tray has been demolished. When we say demolished, we mean we were surprised someone did not lick the tray clean.
Rounds Bakery has been serving the Reno and Sparks populations for years now, but this surprise was a first for us. We did a little digging to learn their bagels are boiled before being baked, which stays true to the New York method of bagel prep. They even serve Magpie Coffee Roasters and Kona Gold Coffee drinks. While these perfect pairings have made Rounds a popular staple, Rounds has clearly stayed grounded in their decision to give back to the community that has supported them.
Thank you to Rounds Bakery for their amazing generosity to the House. We appreciate everything our supporters do for us and we love to see the smiles (and doughnuts) that brighten our families’ days. Check out the video of the surprise here, where you’ll learn more about what RMHC does to keep families close to their children during tough times.
P.S. did we mention that Rounds Bakery was so taken with our mission that they are going to start donating food for our families to enjoy in the Ronald McDonald Family Room? We definitely think it’s high time for a ‘Round’ of applause.
