A Place of Respite — for local and traveling families
The Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a caring environment inside Renown Children’s Hospital where families of hospitalized babies and children can rest and gather strength while remaining steps from the child’s room. The Family Room also features a sound-proof sleep room for parents when situations are critical and do not allow for a parent to leave the hospital for extended periods of time.
The room is on the fourth floor of Renown Children’s Hospital at the entrance to the Pediatric/PICU units and is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The sleep room is available by appointment.
Family Room Services
Kitchenette: Our cozy kitchenette features a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and freezer — everything families need for quick meals and comfort. Guests can enjoy fresh coffee, snacks, and microwavable options throughout the day. Thanks to generous community donors, we also offer wrapped sandwiches and other easy, single-serve meals.
Living Area: Relax in our warm and welcoming living space, complete with a small dining table, comfortable seating, a television, and a fireplace — perfect for taking a breather or sharing a quiet moment.
Sleep Room: When families need to rest or recharge, our private Sleep Room offers a single fold-out chair and sound-proofed walls to ensure a peaceful, restorative break.
