A Place to Stay Close to Your Child’s Care

When a child needs medical care away from home, families need a place where they can stay together and remain close to the care their child needs.

Ronald McDonald House Northern Nevada provides families with a comfortable place to stay, rest and recharge while their child receives medical treatment. Our goal is to help ease some of the everyday burdens of being away from home so families can focus on what matters most: their child.

Who Can Stay?

Families may be eligible to stay at Ronald McDonald House when they:

  • Have a child receiving medical treatment in the Reno area
  • Live 3o miles outside the local area
  • Have a referral submitted by an authorized hospital social worker, case manager, or medical provider
  • Meet current House eligibility requirements

Room availability is based on current occupancy and the needs of families seeking accommodations. A referral does not guarantee a room.

How to Request a Stay

Families do not submit lodging referrals directly.

If your child is receiving medical care and your family needs a place to stay, please speak with your hospital social worker, case manager or medical provider. They can help determine eligibility and submit a referral to Ronald McDonald House Northern Nevada.

Once we receive a referral, our team will review the request and contact the family with next steps and availability.

For Hospital Social Workers & Referral Partners

Authorized hospital social workers, case managers, and medical providers can submit a lodging referral through our secure online referral system.

A password is required to access the referral form.

What to Expect at the Reno House

The Reno House provides families with more than a room. During their stay, families have access to shared spaces and everyday comforts designed to make time away from home a little easier.

  • Meals and pantry items when available
  • Support from our House team
